Local favorite, better than ever.
Opened as a nine-hole course in 1969 under the name "Live Oak", the golf course attracted locals and visitors alike looking for an accessible, comfortable level of play. In 1991, the course was transformed into an 18-hole course, offering golfers greater variety and challenge. In 2012, the course went through a $2 million renovation, making Lady Bird one of the best municipal golf courses in Central Texas. The renovation included rebuilt greens, re-contoured fairways and a new set of tees, lengthening the course to 6,686 yards. New concrete cart paths were also added to enhance player enjoyment. Overall, the course has become a challenging, but player friendly venue for golfers of all ages. More improvements took place after January 2018, when the golf course came under the management of Touchstone Golf: an automated range ball dispenser was installed at the driving range, the Pro-Shop and Redbird Grill were recently remodeled, and all the bunkers were renovated in the Spring of 2021. An artificial Turfhound tee surface installation is currently in progess, to improve the driving range and the practice experience.
